Shelby Fire GlovesShelby Fire Gloves- A very important piece of fire gear are fire gloves. Finding the best fire gloves is crucial for firefighters. Shelby fire gloves are considered to be some of the best fire gloves. There are four types of fire gloves made by Shelby. Firefighters are put into some tough situations and they need to be prepared for all of them. Almost every situation includes their hands so if their hands arenft protected they arenft to be much help. That protection comes from the use of fire gloves. Not all types of fire gloves provide the protection that firefighters need. There are different types of fire gloves based on the situations. Some of the best fire gloves are made by Shelby. Shelby fire gloves provide all the protection that you need at a very affordable price. As Best Fire Gear mentioned in the opening paragraph, there are four types of Shelby fire gloves. Those types of fire gloves are Structure Gloves NFPA/CE, Structure Gloves OSHA, Wildland/Proximity, and Extrication/Rescue. Each of those types of fire gloves provide a different level of protection and are designed for different activities. Before Best Fire Gear talks about the different types of fire gloves made by Shelby, letfs talk a little about Shelby. Shelby was created in 1985 in an effort to create the best gloves that was possible. Since that time they have done just that. Many firefighters and rescue personnel were the Shelby gloves because they are durable, comfortable, and affordable. Shelby makes their gloves out of four main types of leather: cow hide, elk hide, goat skin and pig skin. The hides are subjected to numerous sophisticated processes and quality control checks to assure the highest quality. A key reason the Shelby fire gloves are so durable is because they use a special sewing process that does between eight to ten individually knotted stitches per inch. Shelby Structural Fire Fighting Gloves NFPA/CE Shelby #5225- These fire gloves are considered to be one of the most durable fire gloves there is. The Shelby #5225 cowhide gloves are fire retardant, heat resistant, and abrasion resistant. Color: Gold and Blue. These fire gloves are NFPA compliant, SEI certified, and CE marked. Shelby #5226- Same as the Shelby #5225 but a gauntlet style. Shelby #5227- Considered to be one of the softest and most flexible fire gloves made out of cowhide. The Shelby #5227 fire gloves are fire retardant and heat resistant. Color: Midnight blue. These fire gloves are NFPA compliant, SEI certified, and CE marked. Shelby #5228- Same as the Shelby #5227 but a gauntlet style. Shelby #5229- A fire glove that is designed to block and protect your hands from steam. This is done by Shelby adding a thermal barrier on the backside of the glove. Color: Blue and gold. The Shelby #5229 fire glove is constructed, tested and labeled in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Standard on Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting, NFPA 1971, 2007 Edition. Shelby #5280- A fire glove made out of elk hide and pigskin. These fire gloves are fire retardant. Colors: Gold and Blue. The Shelby #5280 fire gloves are NFPA Compliant, SEI Certified. Shelby #5280G- Same as the Shelby #5280 but a gauntlet style. Shelby #5282- Same technology as the Shelby #5280, but made out of elk hide and a solid gold color. Shelby #5282G- Same as the Shelby #5282 but a gauntlet style. Shelby #5281- A cowhide fire glove with Crosstech inserts and SEF thermal lining. Color: Soft blue. Shelby #5283- Same as the Shelby #5283 but a gauntlet style. Shelby #5284- Shelby #5284 is considered to be a Crosstech direct grip fire glove. It features a tan cowhide leather and is NFPA complaint and SEI certified. Shelby #5285- Same as the Shelby #5284 but a gauntlet style. Shelby Structural Fire Fighting Gloves OSHA Shelby #5009- A 3.5 ounce popcorn colored pigskin fire glove. It is Fed, Cal-OSHA, and CE complaint. Shelby #4235- Same as the Shelby #5009 but a gauntlet style. Shelby #5012- Similar to the Shelby #5009, but made out of royal blue and black split cowhide. It is Fed, Cal-OSHA, and CE complaint. Shelby #5013- Same as the Shelby #5012 but a gauntlet style. Shelby Wildland NFPA Proximity Gloves Shelby #5002- This Shelby extrication glove is made out of a pigskin. Color: Popcorn and black. The Shelby #5002 meets NFPA 1977 Standard on Protective Clothing and Equipment for Wildland Fire Fighting, 2005 Edition. Shelby #5002F- Same as the Shelby #5002 but a gauntlet style and solid popcorn color. Shelby Extrication/Rescue Gloves Shelby #2500- Shelby has created this extrication glove that is form fitting for a better fit. The glove is made out of DuPont Cordura and very durable. Colors: Yellow and black. Shelby #2510- The rescue/extrication glove is made out of Kevlar for the ultimate protection. The Shelby #2510 is pre-curved with small vents on the back. Color: Yellow and blue. Shelby #2515- One of the most comfortable fire gloves that Shelby makes. The reason it is so comfortable is because it is made out of goatskin. Color: Tan and black. Shelby #2516- Designed for firefighters or rescue personnel that need a glove while gripping a rope. This glove features a double layer of goatskin for added durability. Color: Black, tan, and white. Shelby #2517- Another high quality rescue work glove made by Shelby. This glove has a low profile and is form fitting. On the bottom side is a tacky latex pad so that you can get the ultimate grip.
