Janesville Turnouts Basics

Turnouts are protective ensembles, including both a jacket and pants, worn by firefighters and rescue workers on the job. Janesville Turnouts includes 12 different garment models, some of which have several variations as well as closely related accessories, including a range of suspenders and a variety of belts and harnesses.

The safety standards (e.g., NFPA 1971; the National Fire Protection Association's 2007 Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting) that the garments are manufactured to meet are noted in the guide provided for each garment. Lion Turnout Gear Garments

Here is a brief description of each of the 12 garment styles offered.

• Liberty- Lightweight coat with bi-swing back inverted pleats to facilitate arm movement.

• LION 24- Full-featured turnout for firefighters available in 24 hours in any of four models: gold, tan, yellow, and aluminized.

• Reliant- Fire Turnout with an extended back coat and leather reinforced cuffs, knees, and kick shields.

• SuperCoat/Pants- Turnout designed for maximum mobility when using SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus).

• SuperDeluxe- Full-featured turnout designed for mobility.

• TR51- This is specifically for technical rescue and recovery, meeting both NFPA 1999 and 1951 so that it can be used for EMS stints (Emergency Medical Service) as well as Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) .

• Traditional- This turnout ensemble focuses on complete thermal protection and includes leather reinforcements on the jacket and bellowed knees on the pants.

• V-Force- Using a proprietary design, this turnout applies technology from both combat and professional sports to firefighting.
